

Dr. Meenakshi Sharma is a senior practitioner of Obstetrics and Gynecology in East Delhi. She has been practicing for around 25 years in this field. She did her MBBS and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious premier institute All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. She did her senior Residency and Senior research associate also from AIIMS, Delhi. Later she worked as a specialist in Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, a Delhi Government hospital for 6 years.
Over the years she has specialized in many areas through training in Infertility, Advanced Gynecological Surgeries, Operative Obstetrics, High-Risk Pregnancies, and Menopause.
Training and Experience

- Trained in Gynae Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy under the expert supervision of a renowned endoscopic surgeon, Prof Alka Kriplani at AIIMS.
- Women’s Health Initiative Training Program on Gynecological Endoscopy held in association with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, WHI, and Karl Storz, as a contribution towards the improvement of women’s and girl’s health in rural India.
- Independently performed Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy -abdominal and vaginal, cesarean sections, and cesarean hysterectomies.
- Independently performed over 200 diagnostic laparoscopies and Hysteroscopies.
- Operative laparoscopic procedures performed independently laparoscopic ovarian drilling, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic salpingectomy, and laparoscopic tuboplasty, laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy.
- Operative hysteroscopic procedures performed like Hysteroscopic adhesiolysis, Hysteroscopic septum incision, and hysteroscopic tubal cannulation.

2003- Dr R. D. Pandit Research Prize for Best Thesis on “Laparoscopic bipolar versus unipolar ovarian electrocautery in infertile women with resistant polycystic ovarian syndrome” by Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Society of India (FOGSI) in the year 2003.
2006- First prize for a free paper session in ‘Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists’ (IAGE) annual conference, 2006 for the paper entitled “Laparoscopic ovarian electrocautery in infertile women with resistant polycystic ovarian syndrome”.
2006- Co-author in the second prize in poster presentation in 8th National Conference of India Society for Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy organized by Delhi Society for Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy, 2006 for poster presentation on ‘Fetal hydrometrocolpos: prenatal diagnosis and treatment’
